Through Team IMPACT, Kemuel, who also goes by Kk,&nbsp;was matched with the&nbsp;Claremont Mckenna&nbsp;men\u2019s&nbsp;tennis team, where he met his now good friend, Advik.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Kemuel and Advik, Claremont McKenna Tennis\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SN4Mwq08p18?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether they are practicing serves, stacking tennis balls, or cheering on other teammates, the two can always be found together. Kemuel enjoys learning from Advik, who&nbsp;takes time after practices and games to teach him about tennis, and&nbsp;practice&nbsp;Kemuel\u2019s serve.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure He is&nbsp;very kind&nbsp;to me,\u201d Kemuel said when asked why he wanted to nominate Advik for 2026 Teammate of the Year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.teamimpact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Kemuel3.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kemuel\u2019s family&nbsp;maintains&nbsp;that Advik\u2019s impact goes far beyond the tennis court.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We nominate Advik for best&nbsp;teammate&nbsp;not only for his talent on the court, but for the incredible heart he shows toward Kk,\u201d they said. \u201cRight after finishing his own training, he always rushes to play with Kk\u2014hitting balls, practicing serves, whatever Kk wants.&nbsp;He patiently answers every single one of&nbsp;Kk\u2019s&nbsp;endless questions, never getting tired or brushing him off.\u201d Even after Advil is finished playing, he takes&nbsp;Kk\u2019s&nbsp;hand, cheers for all their teammates, and continually shows Kk what it means to be a good supporter.&nbsp;This has not only made Kk feel welcome on the team but also&nbsp;as part of the family.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.teamimpact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Kemuel1.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAdvik is a strong player, but more than that,&nbsp;he&#8217;s&nbsp;become KK&#8217;s kind, dependable big brother on this team,\u201d&nbsp;Kk\u2019s&nbsp;family said. \u201cThat kind of selflessness and care makes him truly special.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their friendship is a reminder of what Team IMPACT promotes, that the strongest bonds are not measured in wins and losses, but rather by the kindness, encouragement, and joy shared along the way.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.teamimpact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Kemuel2.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For 11-year-old Kemuel,\u00a0tennis is more than a game.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0an opportunity to spend time with one of his favorite teammates, Advik.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kemuel was diagnosed with cancer at just\u00a0three\u00a0years old\u00a0and\u00a0faced a recurrence at age\u00a0five, but after\u00a0treatment, he\u00a0is\u00a0now cancer-free.
