He was born 12 weeks premature and weighing just 13 ounces; Gannon has faced challenges from the very beginning. At just three-and-a-half years old, he was diagnosed with very early-onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD), including Crohn's disease and colitis, along with immune dysfunction. Today, he undergoes outpatient IV chemotherapy every eight weeks and takes oral chemotherapy twice a day.
